Family

This has been a long week for me,
and i am celebrating the end of it
with some family time - driving with
"my girls" to see my family....
i'll be back on Monday  :)

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up!

Oldies

sometimes i wake up in the wee hours
its midnight, and i feel .... lonely.
i don't mind being alone .... most days.

but sometimes at night
i miss having someone nearby
to share things
like a cuddle
or a caress

especially during weeks
like this one.
i'm doing double duty of
my job responsibilities
in two different stores.

my legs, my feet
and my back
are tired and achy.
so i lay here in bed
stretching
and tossing and turning
trying to get comfortable.

being this busy leaves
very little time for
daily pleasures
like posting pix
for you.

In the meantime, here are
a couple from 2006 and

have come a long way
since then, and so have i !!

Well I woke up this morning

But maybe you're a superstitious kind,
and Friday the 13th never feels like a lucky day!
I don't ever feel that way --
in fact today is my granddaughter's 11th birthday;
she was born on Friday the 13th too :)

Known scientifically as “Tridecaphobia,” fear of the number 13 is probably the most common of all superstitions. Buildings avoid numbering the 13th floor. Airplanes avoid the 13th aisle. And almost every North American knows that Friday the 13th is considered a bad luck day.

some weekends are

very quiet for me...

this past weekend was one.

Nothing scheduled,

nothing pressing,

just time to sit quiet

if only for a brief time.

and while that's sweet sentiment, how often do we actually think about our feet?
They take us everywhere, they support our every move, every choice.
They don't complain (much) when we stuff them into high heels.
They don't ask for much - a slather of lotion every now and then
(along with a toenail clipping once in a while as well)
We stand, skip, jump, wade, waddle, run and hop.
And yet we sometimes take them for granted!
Next time you're in the shower, bend over!
(no, no not for that -- this time hehehe)
and give your feet a little extra care today.
They'll thank you for it!

She gets me up and going

early every day,

but there's always time

for rest afterward!

On my morning walk with Sadie, these three birds 

were sitting atop the light pole and I thought 

"What would they be saying?" -- yes, sometimes 

my brain is quite fanciful, thinking that animals 

have pearls of wisdom for us!  And the other day, 

I heard this speech on 'Two and a Half Men' .... 

and thought it fit :)
