Passion

Yesterday was a warm day here in the Valley of the Sun.  As the sun started to go down, I sat on my back porch (in the shade, overhead fan spinning lazily) and watched the sky turn from blue to indigo.  The birds were flitting about, calling out to each other in their chirps, and I imagined they were saying goodnight to each other, or giving last minute advice to watch out for the neighborhood cats. (lol)  I could hear the occasional motorcycle in the distance as it traveled down the road in a hurry.  And I felt a sense of peace that things were right with my world for the moment.

My thoughts turned to this blog, my original ideals for it, and what it's grown to become.  I haven't been posting as often as I originally planned, and lately my photos haven't been as inspired as I'd like them to be.  The word that came to mind was "passion" as I contemplated what I've posted, and what I'd like to do in the future.  Which leads me to reading up on passion, and of course, finding a quote:

It's 6am Sunday morning, and as the sun rises again,

 I can feel how warm the day will be. 

If you have a passion in life, embrace it, 

use your passion for something great today!

Hats

Humans have covered their heads since time immemorial.  Initially headwear offered protection from the elements; later head coverings became symbols of status of authority.  Soon after hats progressed to become not only a uniform, but also an art form.

At the turn of the 20th century in 1900, both men and women changed their hats dependent on their activity.

Hats when worn today are either worn for a special dressy occasion such as a wedding or conversely as casual statement attire.

It is unlikely that the hat will ever die as an accessory as it offers far too much potential for drawing attention to the face. 

 Fashion or not,

This quote jumped out at me today, and decided to share it.  Lately, my thoughts have been on finding balance, reflection and renewal. Life is hard (and oftentimes much too busy!); but we let it become that way when we don't take time for ourselves.  Find some time, do something for yourself today!

Wanted

 He wrapped a big strong arm around her, and kissed the top of her head.  He wanted this woman in his bed, but wasn't sure she felt the same.  He watched as she tipped her face up to his, and looked down into her eyes.  He tried reading the depths there, trying to gauge what she was feeling.  With a soft growl, he decided he didn't care; with a bend of his knees, he slid his other arm behind her knees, and picked her up, sweeping her off her feet and carrying her down the hall to his bedroom.  He felt her arms slide around his neck, her cheek pressed to his chest.   

When they reached the edge of the bed, he set her feet down softly, letting her body slowly slide down his length.  He knew she could feel his arousal; her arms stayed around his neck, and he felt her lips press kisses against his heated skin.  He looked into her eyes, knowing he wouldn't be able to wait much longer, and whispered, "Are you sure?"  She didn't speak, just nodded, looking into his eyes.  The hunger she carefully masked during the day was there in her eyes as she slid her hands beneath his shirt, toying with the crisp hair.  He groaned inwardly as he fussed with the zipper of her dress, letting it pool around her feet as he gazed at her fussy feminine bra and panties.  Her hands groped at his shoulders, sliding off his shirt.  He quickly unfastened his jeans, stepping out of them as they fell back onto the bed. 

The moonlight streamed in the window, giving him just enough light to watch her flush as he carefully removed her lacy bra and panties.  He stared down at her skin, drinking in the sight of it, knowing how soft it will feel under his touch.  He ached to take her then and there, but knew that he needed to move slowly.  He sucked in a deep breath to keep control of his own needs as he cupped his hand and slid it along her skin, feeling her shiver.  She was like a flower, her skin like soft petals, and her body responded to his touch.  And he knew, they both knew, that tonight would not soon be forgotten.

Scarf

While out and about yesterday,

I stopped into a Goodwill Store

and found this lovely paisley scarf.

 Without a clue what I was going 

to do with it, I quickly realized 

it would make a great piece for

my blog.  (And at $4, a bargain!)

 

 

Checking in with Google, I see 

some are used for decorating.

If I drape it across my 

entertainment center, I won't

need to dust as often, right?  

*giggles* 

Anything to get out of

a little extra housework :)
