Hello, Spring!

Sometimes

the morning light

is just too perfect

for my creative side

to ignore

It's been a while since my last post

because I'm attempting to do "adulting";

to take care of pesky things

that need to be done.

This year I'll turn 60

and the future needs to be addressed.

Or arranged for:   Adulting done!

7am, the sun rises and that first light

is magically golden.

Happy Spring, my friend!

My Backyard

Me:   I really want to travel!

My Credit Card:   Like.... to the backyard??

I saw this and found it humorous

because lately it seems I spend most of my time

at home.  In my yard.

And really I'm OK with that!

Travel with Sadie is difficult, at best.

As I grow older, I find that my circle of travel

is smaller.  I don't see the need to be on the go

all the time.  When I was younger, had children,

it seemed I was going somewhere.

Every single day!

So having the freedom to choose to stay home

can be a joyous thing!

What's in your backyard?

Sunday Mornin'

Starting this Sunday with a clean heart.

No doubt, no tears,

No worry, no fears.

Retail and Black Friday.

If you're involved in either parts of this,

you can attest that it's the equivalent of a

walk through hell.

Hours upon hours are spent prepping for

the madness, and lasts less than 24 hours.

So today, Sunday, is a very restful kind of day.

An early morning stroll through my backyard

checking on things newly planted to clear my

mind and put aside worries about work.

Early morning is my favorite time of day!

Monday - Ugh

I laughed when I viewed this photo....

it almost looks like I'm trying to

tug this poor palm tree

out of the ground!

*smh*

When I checked the posts on this blog,

I found it hard to believe that a week

flew by without a post.

I took a few photos during the week

but haven't had a moment to myself

to do much of anything.

This is a busy month for me --

the big Wedding is coming up fast,

everyone at work seems to want

their vacation at the same time

which means plenty of filling in

on different tasks for me

along with different work days.  Ugh.

Red Hat

A hat is not

just a hat.

A hat is the expression

of a woman's soul.

-Lily Doche

I am a not very ordinary woman.
I have quirks and foibles and
yes, even obsessions.
One of them is hats.
I like them, but I don't wear them often.
I'm not sure why, even though I have
quite the collection of hats!

Maybe because they make me feel
dressed up.

In my mind's eye in the dark of last night,
an image sort of like this came to me.
However, it was with long, silky legs
and a hat perched so cleverly on my ass.

lol
SO not what appeared in the photo.
But then a 10-second self timer
doesn't allow for much set-up in the
viewer.  If so, I might have moved
the garden hose, and Sadie's ragged toy.
And so it goes.

Morning

oh my how good it feels to

sleep in -- even an extra hour

feels awesome!  To be home

and relaxing is the best ever!

But after 3 weeks or so of days

where i'm up before 5am, i was

wide awake, so Sadie and i got

ready and walked in a local park.

It's a beautiful day in the

Valley of the Sun !

What will you do with your day?

New Day

 “Renew, release, let go.

Yesterday’s gone.

There’s nothing you

can do to bring it back.

You can’t “should’ve”

done something.

You can only DO something.

Renew yourself.

Release that attachment.

Today is a new day!”

― Steve Maraboli

Today, many will awaken
with a fresh sense of inspiration. Why not you?

Today, many will open their eyes
to the beauty that surrounds them. Why not you?

Today is a new day!

Many will seize this day.

Many will live it to the fullest.

Why not you?”

― Steve Maraboli

Sunrise!

As I stumbled my way out the back door to let Sadie out,
i caught a glimpse of this gorgeous sunrise and grabbed my camera.
It was so colorful, it looks like a sunset!

Sunrise

After 12 days in a row
of getting up at 4:30am
for work,
it was hard not to be awake
when I could sleep in.
When I first stepped outside,
I noticed early morning clouds
and thought
"ugh, I'm too tired to head out" --
but then realized that would be
the very thing
to help me get through my day.

So the pup and I
hopped into the car
and drove to a local park
to capture some sunrise.

Sassy

“I want someone to love me for me, faults and all.
Someone who can't fall asleep without being my last call.
Someone who wants to be my last goodnight and my first hello.
Someone who will hold my hand and not let it go.
Someone who means it when he says, 'I will leave you never.'
Someone who looks into my eyes and sees their... Forever.”
― José N. Harris, MI VIDA

I became fascinated with the shadows
and really like how my shadow looks all sassy !
does it say "You GO girl!" to you? *giggles*

Desert Morning

Up with the dawn
spur of the moment
dash to the car
drive to the mountain
just to see the sun rise

No people, just the desert
waking up
the air so still and quiet
you can hear a bird's
wing flap as it flits
from cactus to cactus

I believe I confused the
camera focus when I
slid into view...

There is an exhilaration of sorts
along with a crazy fear of
getting undressed in a public place
in order to take a picture.

(I didn't think this one through very well.  Forgot my tripod, so I was stuck with finding a place to set my camera.  Sorry about the sox, but finding a cactus thorn in my bare feet while naked in public didn't sound like it would go very well at all.  Hope you liked these in spite of the lack of planning on my part! ~Gal)
