The Mad Hatter

I knew who I was this morning,

but I've changed a few times since then.

~From Alice in Wonderland

Here I am sporting a crazy hat

I found for a dollar.

There's just something about a hat .....

Otherwise, ignore how peaked I look

as I've come down with a cold and

have spent nearly the entire weekend

in bed.

and not in *that* way.  lol

Which Hatterday?

May is almost over -
where did the time go?

I think I can answer that
for me :  First, there was
this wedding....
My daughter finally! got
married, and it was such
a fun event, kept me busy
the entire month of April !!
But she's SO happy now,
and I just love my new
son-in-law.

May was the month of
long never-ending days of
prepping for inventory in
my retail setting.  If you can
imagine a BigBox store, all the
things contained in one - and having
to count the entirety --- while the
store remains open with shopping
customers roaming around.  A team
of about 40 people come in, and just
swarm down an aisle, taking each
section at a time, and counting every
item.  Yes, quite the undertaking!

It's the one week a year before The Day
that I work odd shifts, staying til 8pm or
later, trying to get everything done.
It's both exhilirating and exhausting!
But I survived another one.
That was the 17th inventory I've done
in my current career.

Found these photos hidden on my
SD card - since I'm wearing a hat, it must
have been Hatterday!   lol

Red Hat

A hat is not

just a hat.

A hat is the expression

of a woman's soul.

-Lily Doche

I am a not very ordinary woman.
I have quirks and foibles and
yes, even obsessions.
One of them is hats.
I like them, but I don't wear them often.
I'm not sure why, even though I have
quite the collection of hats!

Maybe because they make me feel
dressed up.

In my mind's eye in the dark of last night,
an image sort of like this came to me.
However, it was with long, silky legs
and a hat perched so cleverly on my ass.

lol
SO not what appeared in the photo.
But then a 10-second self timer
doesn't allow for much set-up in the
viewer.  If so, I might have moved
the garden hose, and Sadie's ragged toy.
And so it goes.

Hatterday!

“All human beings

have three lives:

public, private, and secret.”

― Gabriel García Márquez

Taking photos in low light

makes for sallow skin tones

and an image that isn't very sharp.

Here in my cowgirl hat

celebrating "hatterday"

and thinking on this quote.

And in some ways, I think it's true for

many people.

BTW:  This is my secret life.
