Being Home

The older i get,

the more i appreciate

being home

doing absolutely nothing.

Never was a statement more true!

I've had some much needed days off

and I only left home once .....

because my car needed gas

and my Sadie needed groceries!

I tell myself "you need to get out more"

and myself answers back, "but whyyyyy?"

When

A new day

Begins,

Dare to

Smile

Gratefully!

-Steve Maraboli

Here it is

Another Saturday

I spent the last few days

dealing with AC issues

that are all fixed now,

thankfully!

But I found as I was

snapping pix this week

that my battery is dead.

And now I cannot find

my charger.

UGGHHH.

If you have an extra one

for a Canon NB-11LH battery

please drop me a note!

Listen

...there are times

when we stop.

We sit still.

We listen...

and breezes from

a whole other world

begin to whisper.

Window's Light

Beauty is not in the face;

beauty is a light in the heart.

~Kahlil Gibran

as usual, i am up in the wee morning hours, watching the sun rise over the horizon ....

well, more like over the rooftops of the houses to the east....

the air is chilly, but it doesn't bother me....

light streams in my french doors; as i notice this, i stop everything, grab my camera, and strip off my jammies so that i can take a picture or two......

i like the way the light
plays off my curves .....

don't you agree?

Light

When an interesting shaft of light

tickles my fancy and my senses

what better way to enjoy

than with a pic or two?

Sadie and I are enjoying
some sunshine
and spaghetti
on this weekend
before Christmas

Whatever your plans are
I hope they're
happy and joyful!

Womanly

“You must not for one instant
give up the effort
to build new lives for yourselves.
Creativity means to
push open the heavy, groaning
doorway to life.
This is not an easy struggle.
Indeed, it may be
the most difficult task in the world,
for opening”

 ~Daisaku Ikeda

I like the first pose best,
with its hint of mystery,
making one wonder....
"Who is she thinking about?"

I enjoyed posing for
this series.
Love playing with hats
and the silky robe.
I almost felt
as if I live
a different life,
if only for a moment

Days.End

"I didn't ask for it to be over,

but then again, I never asked

for it to begin.  For that's the

way it is with life, as some of

the most beautiful days

come completely by chance.

But even the most beautiful

days eventually have

their sunsets."

Randoms

Just a couple
of random pix
from the last series

 Like the sky opens
after a rainy day
we must open to ourselves....
Learn to love yourself
for who you are
and open so the world
can see you shine.

Creativity

When work is busy, chaotic even,
it helps to get out and do something
creative with my camera.

The sun was setting,
I'm standing on a floating bridge,
ducks are swimming around,
calling to each other.
Sometimes I imagine
its the mother ducks
calling to their ducklings
that its time to come 'home'
for the evening.

To think creatively,

we must be able

to look afresh

at what we normally

take for granted.

~George Kneller

Shadows

Been feeling
under the weather
for the past
couple of days.

Must be the
beginnings of
Holiday Rush...
so much work
too little time!

From within or from behind,
a light shines through us upon things,
and makes us aware
that we are nothing,
but the light is all.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

A human being
is only breath and shadow.
Sophocles

Beware lest you lose the substance
by grasping at the shadow.
