Smoke Filter

We had another storm

roll through the other evening

I had just gotten out of the shower

when the rains hit

so I had to dash outside!

Weirdly enough, even though

the temp was 104, the rain was chilly!

I utilized one of my many options

to filter this photo - it's called "smoke".

I like the black and white, always have,

but I like the added ethereal look 

it gives to the plants! 

(I've noticed I tend to filter the photos

that I don't like very much!)

Busy, Busy, Busy

Ready for The Wedding Shower.
2.5 hours drive to destination
and back again, as I didn't take Sadie along.
Last weekend was very busy!






I'm not one to enjoy
a lot of "busy - ness "
I get plenty of that at
my day job.  When I
am home, it's time for
me, time to persue the
things that feed my soul:

Long walks with Sadie
help in a big way, along
with reading a good book,
watching an enjoyable movie
or listening to music.

Without those things,
it's difficult to be in a
place where I feel the
creative pull to do ....
what I do.

We had a rain shower last night
and I woke up in the wee hours
listening to it rain.  Of course I
was anxious for first light to get
outdoors....
there's something about the
smell of the wet desert.....

Rain Dance

Yesterday we had the nicest

downpour! and I was hoping

for more of the same today....

so off I went into the backyard

to do my own little rain dance!

(as usual, Sadie had to get

     in on the act as well! )

Hatful of Rain

With just a hatful of rain

early morning,
and we have some
delightful rain
here in the
Valley of the Sun
which made me think
of a Del Amitri song
that I really like called
"Hatful of Rain"
and thought it would
make a good
theme for the blog.

dancing in the rain

For as long
as I can remember,
I have loved storms.
Wind.
Thunder.
Lightning.
Rain.
Sprinkles.
Downpours.

Here in the
Valley of the Sun,
summer is the time
for our monsoons -
rain that swoops in
quickly,
leaves its mark,
and is gone
as quick as it came.

It's never a surprise
to find me outdoors
when it begins,
sometimes
dancing in the rain
in my nightie.

With more
wind than rain,
I dashed outdoors
to capture the moment.
