Dusk

The light fades, and the desert twilight winks briefly.

Just before bed, I take a moment,

a simple pause from the chaos of life

because there's more to life than the mere details.

It is here in this quiet hour where thoughts come,

where there is just a little bit of peace

and I can stop and be grateful for all that I have.

Thanks for stopping by!

Twilight

“The sky grew darker,

painted blue on blue,

one stroke at a time,

into deeper and deeper

shades of night.”

― Haruki Murakami

Ready for bed
watching the twilight
the evening blues
here in the desert
one of my fav
moments in a day

it has been hectic here
this past week or so
with family visiting
arrangements being made
then re-made with changes
entertaining my nephew
brought me awareness --
hanging out was pure pleasure :)

He even convinced me to ride
this Giant Wheel --
after we had cotton candy !

Twilight

Far better is it to dare mighty things,
to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure...
than to rank with those poor spirits
who neither enjoy nor suffer much,
because they live in a gray twilight
that knows not victory nor defeat.
-- Theodore Roosevelt

At my first full time job, this quote sat on my boss' desk for as long as I could remember.  And it always served to remind me that we need to try things, even if its outside our comfort zone, because its more important in life to try and perhaps fail, than it is to do nothing, and later in life wish you had.

Here I am at twilight, the sun set, and the sky turns to indigo.
Its one of the best times of the day,
a time when you can take a deep breath,
let it all out,
and just relax.
