It's Art!

"It's not art for art's sake,
it's art for my sake."
~D H Lawrence

While D H Lawrence might have said those words, it certainly applies here.
There are some who have looked at me quizzically and asked "Why?"
and I answered "Why not?"

In every living thing, there is the desire for love. ~D H Lawrence

Sex and beauty are inseparable
like life and consciousness,
And the intelligence
which goes with sex and beauty,
and arises out of sex and beauty,
is intuition.
~D H Lawrence

Does he?

he loves me.....
.....he loves me not

a game of French origin,
in which one person
seeks to determine
whether the object
of their affection
returns that affection or not
but tugging petals off a daisy.

he loves me.....

.....he loves me not

he loves me.....
.....he loves me not

 he loves me.....

We choose those we like;
with those we love,
we have no say in the matter.
~Mignon McLaughlin
What is it about something so simply romantic
that girls have done this for ages?
It would be so nice if guys
were as easy to read
as plucking petals off a daisy!!!!

Classy (part 2)

When you’re a plus size woman,
people like to say
"yeah, she's cute in the face",
as if being full figured
is such a disgrace.

Honey, I’m cute in the face,
and I’m thick in the waist.
I look good whether
I’m in cotton, leather, or lace.

I’m beautiful, vibrant
and above all, smart!
And there's more to me
than just my weight,
I also have a heart.

Yes my clothes may
be a bigger size,
that just means one
has access to a bigger prize.

We all are not self-conscious
about our weight,
and we never have
a problem getting a date.
So don’t think your small frame
gives you more pull,
I’m a hot, sexy, curvy woman
with a figure that's full!!!!

Sometimes it isn't easy getting past
what the media portrays as "A beautiful woman".
But true beauty comes from within.
And we need to let ours shine through all the trappings put onto us.

How beautifully
leaves grow old.
How full of light and color
are their last days.
~John Burroughs

Here in the Valley of the Sun
autumn comes late
and is very short lived.
Those of us who
put up with
our "winter" of
extreme summer heat
love the temps now,
especially me.

So here I am
doing ordinary things
tending my pots and plants

When the work is done,
i enjoy lounging in the sun
with a cold drink and a good book.

as you can see....
i've been working on my tan!

Classy (part 1)

A gal should be two things:

classy and fabulous.

Fashion is not something

that exists in dresses only.

Fashion is in the sky,

in the street,

fashion has to do with ideas,

the way we live,

what is happening.
To make women look young.
Then their outlook changes.
They feel more joyous.

I am not young
but I feel young.
The day I feel old,
I will go to bed and stay there.

J'aime la vie!

I feel that to live is a wonderful thing.

~Coco Chanel

It's always a struggle
for a mature woman
to be comfortable
in her own skin
when constantly bombarded
by images the media
claims as "beauty"
when beauty isn't a size,
a number, or a color.
It's the whole package,
and now that I've finally
"grown into my self",
I wish I'd learned
these things earlier in life.

To all the men
who appreciate
a mature woman's
beauty, thank you
very much!

Happy Thanksgiving!

..... just a little puttering in the yard .....

This is the day for giving thanks,
for recognizing those things
that we tend to take for granted,
usually because we're busy with the details of life

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today
and creates a vision for tomorrow.        ~Melody Beattie

While i am grateful, and thankful,
for the same things as most other folks
such as family and a home,
I'm also thankful for you,
my friends i have here.
This has been the beginning
of something very special to me.
Thank you for allowing me to share it with you.

As the sun was going down, it peeked into my window,
and i tried to capture the feel of the waning sun's golden hue.

KIss This!

"If a man
is pictured
chopping off
a woman's breast,
it only gets a R rating,
but if, God forbid,
a man is pictured
kissing a woman's breast,
it gets an X rating.
Why is violence
more acceptable
than tenderness?"
~Sally Struthers

In the words of
John Denver,
"Sunshine on my shoulders
makes me happy."
I hope your day of thanks
was full of light, and love.

Been feeling
under the weather
for the past
couple of days.

Must be the
beginnings of
Holiday Rush...
so much work
too little time!

From within or from behind,
a light shines through us upon things,
and makes us aware
that we are nothing,
but the light is all.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

A human being
is only breath and shadow.

Beware lest you lose the substance
by grasping at the shadow.

Just doing a little
"before the holidays"
organizing files
and sweeping out
the clutter.

i found these
that i haven't
posted before
and thought i'd
toss them up

they're just a few
of the leftovers

“Leftovers in their
less visible form
are called memories.
Stored in the
refrigerator of the
mind and the
cupboard of the heart.”
~Thomas Fuller

it was a beautiful
day here in the
Valley of the Sun
and I napped....
in my lounge chair
for a couple hours
and managed to
get some faint tan lines :)

Some days,
it isn't easy
thinking up
for my blog.
Here's a quick
picture of me
"on film"

sometimes its
more fun doing
the edits than
it is the actual

“Whether he is an artist or not,
the photographer is a joyous sensualist,
for the simple reason
that the eye traffics in feelings,
not in thoughts.”
~Walker Evans

the human foot

There's something about pampered feet

that say "take a picture of me!"

and being unable to resist..... i did :)

"Think of the magic of that foot, comparatively small,
upon which your whole weight rests.
It's a miracle, and the dance...
is a celebration of that miracle."
~ Martha Washington

"Dancing is the poetry of the foot."
~ John Dryden

"The human foot
is a masterpiece
of engineering
and a work of art."
~ Leonardo da Vinci

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself in any
direction you choose.
You're on your own,
and you know what you know.
And you are the Gal
who'll decide where to go.
Dr. Seuss

Naughty Bits!

Sitting here after my shower,

applying lotion to all the

sexy skin parts that tend to

dry out in the cooler weather,

and decided to grab the camera.....

Ah, women.
They make the highs higher
and the lows more frequent.
~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche

Whether they give or refuse,
it delights women just the same
to have been asked.

A woman can say more in a sigh than a man can say in a sermon.  ~Arnold Haultain

Cap'n Jack !

“A woman who would steal your love

when your love is all you really have

isn’t much of a woman.”

“We’re all damaged in our own way.
Nobody’s perfect. I think we are all
somewhat screwy, every single one of us.”

“I think
the thing to do
is to enjoy the ride
while you’re on it.”

Life's pretty good, and why wouldn't it be?
I'm a pirate, after all!!

At the last minute
I decided to add
this post.
Evenings have turned
and nothing feels better
than a pair of socks
when your toes are

Most evenings,
I can be found
enjoying a book
right before bed.
Sweet dreams, everyone!

The Writer

For those of you
getting to know me,
I like words almost as much
as I like pictures.
I enjoy writing,
and woke up with this little
story in mind early Saturday morning.
Hope you enjoy!  ~Gal

He eased his hip onto the bed, and took my hand in his, kissing the palm.  The feeling I had when we first me of wanting to sink my teeth into him roared into a flame of desire, and a little sigh escaped my lips.  "Does that mean you wanted to see me, too?" he asked in his deep timbred voice.  A small "yes" squeaked out of me as I nodded in the semi-darkness.

He was so casual as he sloughed out of his T-shirt; I couldn't take my eyes off him as he revealed his muscled chest.  He tossed the T-shirt on the floor and gathered me in his arms.  My own wrapped around him as he kissed the top of my head.  My face turned upward and he kissed my lips softly, and whispered "Are you sure?" I kissed him deeply, letting him know I was very sure.  What started as tender love making turned ....

into heated flames as we kissed and caressed.  He gently worked his magic on me.  There wasn't anything rough or mean in his ways, but intense desire that increased our rhythms as he plunged himself deeper into me with every stroke.  My senses were alive, and I wanted to remember each moment as it happened, as I felt it, but each moment was lost as new sensation arrived.  He knew how to please a woman, and get his own pleasures at the same time.  Closer to the edge of an orgasm, he would pull back, stop moving, kiss me softly and whisper "Not yet."  His hand stroked my arm, my hip, down my thigh.

Just when I thought the moment had passed, he would pick up the rhythm again, his fingers tickling the inside of my arm, across my breasts, teasing my nipples to hardness again, just as he began to move deep inside me; faster and harder he plunged into me.  My legs wrapped around his hips to pull him deeper, my fingers raked down his back as I panted, needing release.  I heard him growl as he pushed deeper, again and again.  When I felt him tense up, I shuddered, letting the waves of my own orgasm wash over me, my muscles clenching tightly around him.  He threw his head back in one final thrust and I felt the throbbing rush of him deep inside, and let out a soft moan of pleasure.

Blue Again

Some thoughts and facts about blue:

Consider how blue
is used in language:
blue moon, blue Monday,
blue blood, the blues,
and blue ribbon.

Blue is the coolest color -
the color of the sky,
ocean, sleep, and twilight.

The ancient Egyptians
used lapis lazuli
to represent heaven.

Blue is the calming color.

Wednesday's color is blue.

The energy of the color blue
allows us to look beyond
and increase our perspective outward.

 Somewhere over the rainbow,
skies are blue........
