even if you have nowhere to do it
but your living room.
~Kurt Vonnegut

There are short-cuts to happiness,
and dancing is one of them.
~Vicki Baum

Nothing brings about a lot of self questions like a death in the family, especially as we get older.  At my age, its practical to think about the what if's .... but more the what when's.  No one likes to think about it, but there's always so much more to do, to say, so many people to share your love with.  Don't let time slip by.  If there's a favorite relative you haven't seen or spoken with in some time.... make time.  I certainly plan on it.  Thanks for all your good thoughts and caring.
Don't be afraid to dance!

Things are a little hectic and crazy around here this week...
my apologies for posting something from my archives.

Cheery Balloons

nobody can be uncheered
with a balloon.

       ~Winnie The Pooh

and since I chose a Winnie quote,
this one too:

If there ever comes a day
when we can't be together
keep me in your heart,
I'll stay there forever.

Pulled this up from some archives,
it was a balloon kind of day for me!

Sole Mates

Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet
and the winds long to play with your hair.
~Khalil Gibran

(Just one pix today, for it was a typical Monday on top of a few other things. Enjoy!)

Arizona Sunshine

It was a beautiful
sunny Sunday morning
and I felt like I needed
to be out in the
sun's rays

(yes, that's me
being rather silly)

there is something
so cheerful
early morning sunshine

it has the power
to wash away
whatever blues
are ailing us

While I found
my own healthy dose
of Arizona Sunshine.....

perhaps you'd like a different version:
1 qt rum, 1 qt cold coffee,
and 1 qt vanilla ice cream.
mix in a chilled bowl and serve.

Red Gloves

This evening, I started out making some pictures
for the blog;
what started off as a fun kind of evening
didn't quite turn out that way...
So, dear fans and readers,
just two pictures for this evening
and a couple words of wisdom:
Someday is not a day of the week.(author unknown)
Go for it now.  The future is promised to no one.  ~Wayne Dyer

Gardening Gal

Just a part
of my
Saturday morning
working on
the plants
for my yard.

in the desert
can be a real challenge

and so much
of the work
is done in the
early morning hours
before the heat
of the day

She's got legs....

Darling, the legs aren't so beautiful,
I just know what to do with them.
~Marlene Dietrich

I dug in the archives
and pulled up a few
leg shots.

She's got legs,
she knows how to use them...
~ZZ Top

"A girl's legs are her best friends,
but the best of friends must part."
~Redd Foxx

Love is....

Love is worth fighting for,
being brave for,
risking everything for.

And the trouble is,
if you don't risk anything,
you risk even more.
          ~~Erica Jong

Have you
taken a risk

In reading up on nude portraiture
I'm finding that the fetal position
is the most popular.

I decided to give it a try
I hope you're not disappointed.

However, personally speaking,
I like a little more  to the picture.

Here's my
little bits
of experimenting.

Monday, Monday

 Monday, Monday

and I was back

at the gym.

Why do we

Mondays to

start again?

 When I

got home,

I realized

I needed to do

some extra stretching

to work out

the kinks.

Purple Blues

The nice thing

about an

anonymous blog

is the ability to

let people

see different aspects

of me

at my discretion

the good,

the bad,

or the ugly.

This is entitled

"Purple Blues"

as today

is a blues kind of day.

We sing the blues
because our hearts have been hurt,
our souls have been disturbed.
~Alberta Hunter

Black and White work

It's early Saturday morning
and its beautiful here in
the Valley of the Sun.

not a cloud in the sky
and no rain in the forecast

it's also one of those
more difficult days
where I get to do
that I dread every year.

When I stepped
outside to check
things in the yard
(not that there's much)
I was inspired
to try taking
some photos

With so much
to do today
not much time for

I hope you
whatever it is
you're doing

16 September 2011

After what seemed to be

a very long week,

it's sometimes hard

to find inspiration.

But with camera in hand....

I try and try again.

"... more skin..."

a helpful hint from someone.......

Happy Friday!

Hat Day !

The  TOP  5  REASONS  to  wear  a  hat:

1) Visual Effect- The fashion of a hat can
add a look of elegance and charm
to almost any outfit

2) The Bad Hair Day-
A hat is a perfect solution to a bad hair day.

3) To Prevent Hypothermia-
One of the best ways to keep warm
is to keep your head covered.

4) To go incognito-
Wearing a hat can add to a
convincing disguise when you
don't want to be recognized

5) Simply to have fun-
So pick out a style of hat
that fits your personality
and enjoy the day
under the shade!

That is the best reason of all.... to have fun :)
A hat showed up in my office today,
so I plopped it on my head, and had some fun!

Love Thy Feet

Your feet

will bring you

to where

your heart is.

~Irish Proverb
The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering
                                                       and a work of art.

dancing in the rain

For as long
as I can remember,
I have loved storms.

Here in the
Valley of the Sun,
summer is the time
for our monsoons -
rain that swoops in
leaves its mark,
and is gone
as quick as it came.

It's never a surprise
to find me outdoors
when it begins,
dancing in the rain
in my nightie.

With more
wind than rain,
I dashed outdoors
to capture the moment.
